This variation of the Tom Clancy novel trudges gloomily through an inconsequential plot, and feels like a pitiful, by-the-numbers activity movie from the '80s
The move is breath-making and Michael B. Jordan is charming as usual, yet (there is consistently one) overall, Without Remorse trudges morosely through a trivial plot. Philip Noyce has done superb variations of Tom Clancy's books, Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games — would harrison be able to Ford be any more Jack Ryan?

While Tom Clancy's Without Remorse was distributed in 1993, it was set during 1970s with Navy Seal John Kelly busting drug rings and protecting detainees from Vietnam. The movie has been brought to the present, yet feels like a miserable, by-the-numbers activity movie from the '80s bound to play on late night link.
All searching for an energizing refreshing a la The Bourne Identity (the eponymous Robert Ludlum book turned out in 1980, the hour of extreme, manly thrill rides), will undoubtedly be baffled.
John Kelly and his group go to Syria to protect a CIA usable held hostage by speculated Russians.
